Ayn Rand in India initiative is encouraging students from India to participate in this global competition based on Ayn Rand's masterpiece "Atlas Shrugged". For the past many years, the Ayn Rand Institute has been hosting the Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest for 12th standard and college students. This year's competition closes on Sept 17, 2009.

2010 John Templeton Fellowship Essay Contest

The Independent Institute, in cooperation with the John M. Templeton Foundation announces the 2010 Sir John M. Templeton Fellowships Essay Contest. The Templeton Fellowships Essay Contest is open to college students (undergrads and grad students) and untenured college teachers from around the world and will give away a prize of $26,500 to the contest winners, reports the Independent Institute.

For the eighth year, International Policy Network (IPN) is accepting submissions for its annual Bastiat Prize for Journalism. The Prize is open to writers anywhere in the world whose published articles eloquently and wittily explain, promote and defend the principles and institutions of the free society. This year, IPN will award an additional prize for the Online Journalism, reports International Policy Network.

Atlas calls for entries for the 2009 Templeton Freedom Awards for Excellence in Promoting Liberty. This year will have two winners in each of the 8 categories. Last date for entries will be 31st May 2009. The TFA program complements Atlas’s traditional work: advising and investing in the most promising young think tanks; honouring excellent work through programs such as the Sir Antony Fisher International Memorial Awards; and organizing creative efforts to enhance the impact of important new scholarship on liberty, reports Atlas Economic Research Foundation.

The Independent Institute, USA, announces the 2009 Sir John M. Templeton Fellowships Essay Contest, which includes separate divisions for both college students and junior faculty members. The Contest encourages college students and young college professors around the world to study the meaning and significance of economic and personal liberty. The Templeton Essay Contest awards cash fellowships to the authors of the top three essays, with entries reviewed by a panel of three distinguished scholars.
