In Defence of Liberty, is a portal on ideas of individual freedom, from India and the world. It strives to compile liberal perspectives on contemporary issues. It also carries news and views of Liberty Institute, and its partner network.

Liberty Institute is an independent think tank dedicated to empowering the people by harnessing the power of the market. It seeks to build understanding and appreciation of the four institutional pillars of a free society – Individual Rights, Rule of Law, Limited Government and Free Market.

The Institute undertakes a number of activities, among them research and advocacy on public policy issues. It organises conferences and seminars, and has a publications programme. The Institute is working on a range of public policy issues, including economic development and trade policy, energy policy and environmental quality, education and health policies, democracy and governance reforms, intellectual property rights and innovation, among others.

The Institute was established in 1996, as a non-profit organisation. It solicits the support of all freedom loving individuals and organisations. It seeks to retain its independence, demonstrate its commitment to ideals, live up to its motto: “Where the mind is without fear…”
